A cutesy Australian cafe and wine bar just off Queens Park high street. The focus of Milk Beach is top quality coffee, wine and produce. All the wines are supplied by hand picked independent wine makers and the speciality coffee choices are from small farms around the globe and roasted on site.
Brunch is served all day with wine sharing plates being offered in the evening, taking inspiration from Australia’s diverse culture. My flatmate Catherine and I popped in for some breakfast on a Wednesday morning; we found the cafe already bustling with people catching up and writing emails over their breakfast.
We ordered an array of dishes and drinks; to start we each had a freshly squeezed OJ and tried one of their signature pink latte’s (their take on a chai latte), and a cappuccino. The coffee was especially delicious, a perfect cappuccino.
For food I opted for the granola bowl as I always have a massive sweet tooth in the morning. Fresh berries and creamy yoghurt topped generously with their home made granola, was incredibly tasty and very very filling! Catherine went for the signature coddled eggs in a jar with cream and sweet potato purée, sea salt and chives, served with sourdough soldiers. This looked absolutely insane and was very rich and tasty! Defo not a light start to the day though, it is super creamy! We also ordered one of the salads to try out, we were recommended the green bowl – charred seasonal greens, avocado, quinoa and roasted cashews with miso verde dressing, pickled shallots and a poached egg. It was jam packed with good stuff – I saved this to eat later for a very healthy and filling lunch!
A beautiful little cafe, great coffee, lovely food and a really nice chilled atmosphere! Will be popping back with my laptop to enjoy a coffee whilst I power through emails.
