Farmacy has received mixed reviews ever since opening. Some claiming it to be one of the best veggie joints in London and others claiming it to be a disaster-most notably the Guardians write-up which headlines “I pray I never eat here again”.
The restaurant itself is beautiful, comfy seating and plenty of space, in the centre of the restaurant is a beautiful ornate bar serving a mixture of cocktails and mock-tails. The atmosphere and decor cannot be faulted in my opinion it a charming space.
I popped along on a Sunday early afternoon for a late brunch and the place was not overly busy, however, I have heard that for evenings there is some waiting time for tables and you cannot book in advance. The menu consists of ‘healthified’ naughty food favourites including nacho’s, pizza and burgers. Earth bowls are another feature – a salad bowl with an array of superfood grains, avo, nuts and pulses.
The drinks menu has your usual smoothies, juices, hot beverages and mocktails with interesting flavour combinations. The somewhat gimmicky uniqueness on the drinks menu is the superfood syringe shot – a little much ,but fun and very instagrammable none the less!!
After a delightful brunch of avo on sourdough and a yummy smoothie I couldn’t leave without trying one of the decadent desserts. The nice-cream sunday with brownie bits sounded too good to resist and definitely lived up to expectations! One of my favourite vegan desserts to date!
After my first visit to farmacy I cannot understand how such spiteful reviews could have been written. It was a lovely experience, tasty food and a relaxing atmosphere – yes a little pricey but nothing out of the ordinary or unexpected considering the location and type of food.
I am eager to revisit for and evening meal and update the review soon.
