Location: 22-24 Seymour Place, Marylebone
Summary: Upmarket Vegan and Vegetarian restaurant in the heart of Marylebone.
Dietary Options: Able to cater to vegans, vegetarians, gluten-free diets and raw diets.
Favourite Dish: Raw banana and flaxseed pancakes.
The latest restaurant to open in a chain of three high-end plant-based restaurants. The Gate offers an array of beautiful veggie dishes meticulously crafted to set themselves apart from the usual mushroom risotto that is so often presented as a token vegetarian option.
The first of the three restaurants open for brunch you can enjoy dishes ranging from raw vegan pancakes and omelette to a full vegan cooked breakfast. Whether your preference is for sweet, savoury, virtuous or indulgent, there is a dish for you.
Both a feast for the eyes and the stomach; the presentation is impeccable -making your mouth water before you even have a chance to take your first bite. The pancake breakfast was delicious and the free-range egg omelette creamy & fresh. You can enjoy a selection of freshly squeezed juices in a variety of healthy combinations. The coffee is richly flavoured and can be enjoyed with cow’s milk, almond or soy-freshly made! All this to be enjoyed in the relaxing & tasteful minimalistic and clean surroundings.
Make sure you leave enough room for dessert because the are some real show stoppers, particularly the triple chocolate ball served with a hot chocolate sauce. The cheesecake is delightful, accompanied with a sharp coolie to cut straight through the decadent richness and creamy texture.
A brilliant experience for both vegan, veggie and meat eaters alike with some of the most impressive dishes, flavours and presentation I have had the pleasure of experiencing.
