Raw nutella

People have a fixation with nutella that I completely understand. We never had it in the house growing up which is probably a good thing because I would have been a really fat kid with no teeth. Now I could buy my own nutella (the pro’s of being an adult) but I don’t want to contribute to the cruel dairy and palm oil industries nor do I want to be consuming a crap tonne of refined sugar  and saturated fat. So here is my healthified nutella that pleases my inner 10 year old self greatly. And it’s raw!


200g hazelnuts (soaked over night and drained)

50g coconut oil

80ml maple syrup

100ml almond milk

2 tablespooons cacao

1/2 teaspoon of salt

-Pop your hazelnuts and coconut oil in your food processor and blend until it becomes a paste.

-Add your maple syrup and cacao then blend again adding the  almond milk little by little until combined.

-Now your free to enjoy it whatever way you please. From the spoon, on toast, or in a cookie (recipe coming next post).

I spread some on a thick slice of sourdough and topped with some sliced banana- delish.
